Let’s face it. We all know how much it rains in Vancouver, especially during the winter months and I’ll admit I was ready for all sorts of inclement weather. But Chris and Jill’s wedding was one of the only sunny days in weeks. It was chilly but it was glorious when the sun peeked through the clouds and fog, offering some pretty light at all the right moments.
The ceremony and reception were both held at the Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club in Coquitlam and was the perfect backdrop for a wintry wedding. The beautiful stone and wood building tucked away in the mountains offered a certain amount of coziness that comes along with a winter wedding but the decor was warm and inviting. Completed by Chic and Unique Event Design, Jill’s aubergine accent colour really made all the details of the room pop. And of course, the candy bar is always a hit.
From the chilly moments outside with the gracious wedding party to the first dances, the whole day was punctuated by laughter and joy. Jill and Chris were so easy and such a pleasure to work with and their families warm and welcoming. It’s couples like them that really make me pause for a moment to feel privileged and honored to be able to photograph such an important day.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for having me and my sidekick, Jarusha at your wedding!
