I visited Celsia Florist the other day for their afternoon Christmas wreath-making workshop and it was a lot of fun! Not only do I love the smell of fresh-cut boughs this time of year, these ladies really knocked it out of the park with their wreath-making skills as taught by the lovely Johanna and Tahnee. Everyone had their own workspace in the cozy shop and listened to holiday tunes while sipping drinks and nibbling on some yummy treats from Les Petits Bonheurs. I had a vanilla custard choux and seriously, it was divine!
Once everyone arrived, it was right down to business. There were even a few familiar faces - Madison from The Refinery Magazine and Jeannine of Vancity Bride were there so it was a pleasure to see them. The ladies dug into their planters of greens and began gathering and twining their wreaths together. The final step was to embellish with some accents and there was a beautiful assortment from cotton branches to pinecones. It was pretty amazing how everyone started off with the same amount and types of greens and each creation was completely different. There is going to be some very nicely dressed doors in the city this Christmas!
